Shangshu Fm
Type Locality and Naming
North Zhejiang. The Shangshu Fm was named by the Zhejiang Party of Regional Geological Survey in 1970 (Guidebook of 1: 200 000 Scale Geological Map of Quzhou Sheet). The typical section is situated in Shangshu village (now Shangzhi village) in Quzhou City and the reference section is in Fenghuangwu in Xiaoshan County, Zhejiang Province.

Lithology and Thickness
The Shangshu Fm (in the reference section of Fenghuangwu) is a suite of red purple, grayish purple and gray basic, intermediate to acidic lava intercalated with minor pyroclastic rock and sedimentary rock. Lower part is dominated by greenish gray and purple gray andesitic basalt-porphyrite and tuff. Middle part consists of greenish gray andesite interbedded with red rhyolite. Upper part is red purple rhyolite porphyry. From west to east, the thickness varies from 400 m to 1400 m and the degree of metamorphism somewhat decreases.
